Hey Kylan;

Thank you for your kind words of support. I can’t express how appreciative I am for your generosity. I feel similarly toward your work.
I know you are hard on yourself, I observed that during our classes together. You are one of the best writers I’ve read. Best– that is a poor adjective. I find your writing challenging (something to which I rarely admit ) but the challenge is ultimately satisfying to have undertaken. I find your work incredibly persuasive- it grabs me, pulls me in, fights with me over professional differences, and sometimes wins me over and sometimes leaves me disagreeing. But it always forces me to a thoughtful conclusion. Your work never leaves me empty or wanting. It more often leaves me exhausted or struggling. Persuasive is a good word in this context. I find your work somehow technical, though not traditionally, and very very forceful. I vote you the most likely to succeed. You are fiercely individualistic, have a wonderfully colourful vocabulary, and a laser-precise imagination. Your images cut through the fog of fiction and provide high definition resolution as though hard-wired from your brain to mine. It’s spooky and uncomfortable and the power cannot be denied.
So cut yourself some slack and just do what you do. Pretend you wrote your note to me to yourself and stop planning or evaluating your planning. Write. Just write.
And I’m here too.
